I've dated people both through online and meeting in person. In person is preferable, as it's a bit awkward to mention the stutter part online, just doesn't come off right. In person, they can already tell you stutter, so no need to bring it up in a weird way. The difficulty in person is getting the bravery to move things past pleasantries of course. I don't think stuttering has any impact on dating. The opposite sex doesn't care, and in some cases it can make you stand out and seem more unique.
