My parents didn't stutter and I do so I didn't learn it from them. The reason this is such an unpopular opinion in this sub is that this line of thinking is used as a rationale to isolate adolescent stutterers from Gen pop when they are young. "I don't want you hanging out with Timmy because he stutters and I don't want you to start." This leads to Timmy being further isolated which probably exacerbates his condition, etc. None of my friends have "caught" my stuttering amd they would only imitate it if they were teasing me 😂
