I was startled by a large animal. I was a very sensitive toddler and I was still in that age range when it happened. Do I remember it? Yes and no. My parents who were there corrected me on the memory I have about the incident. I have no reason to believe they lie. I guess as a sensitive and easy-to-get-upset child an underlying susceptibility to stutter was there and it was triggered. I think as an adult I'm way less sensitive in comparison but the stutter never went away.
