Dude, I have never ever had a negative reaction when I have disclosed my stutter. You can do it in ways that flows with the conversation. In Australia there is virtually no awareness of stuttering amongst the community at all, so disclosing is important because usually if I don't I get ignorant comments and then when I disclose it makes the person feel uncomfortable, so I would highly recommend just doing it on your own accord in a way that flows with the conversation.
