Do your supervisors know you stutter? I would have told the lady I stutter so at least she could feel bad, but I am not sure you wanted to go that route. And sorry this happened: I hate the “semi-invisibility” of stutter sometimes. People don’t know and, truly, I understand when they are confused about it—but it still sucks for us.
