Might be worth talking to the teacher directly and candidly and visiting a speech therapist with the specific aim of being able to read aloud without stuttering. My guess would be that you've adopted many compensatory strategies, such as word substitution, but you haven't truly gotten over the stutter in scenarios that don't allow for flexibility of your speech.
