My therapists (two of them) told me to never label yourself as "the stutterer" because doing so lessens the chances of you not stuttering. I've had many interviews and meetibg where i don't stutter for 1 hour but later i meet the same person and i stumble on every single word ! Now if i had told them during the meeting i'm sure i'd have stuttered. Acknowledging it in my opinion means saying "i stutter all the time and it will never get better" but you know there are times you stutter less and there are times it gets better.
