Hey I can really relate to this so much. I work as a tech in the ER and sometimes I work protocol so I have to call people back to take their vitals. I was dealing with a lot of that dread and just full blocks with certain names and sounds. I’m not sure how it works at your job but sometimes if I think it’ll be easier for me to say their last name versus their first name I’ll switch it up. I also found that it is a lot easier for me if I start my sentence with uhhh or a sound of some sort followed by their name so before I open the door I’ll start calling their name and then I’m able to say it easier. Since doing this my fluency has been a lot better and it has made this certain task a lot easier and I no longer have that fear. I don’t know if you’re sitting behind a desk or in another room but hopefully that helps 🫶🏻
