**Comparing to contamination OCD:** **Trigger** \[obsession\]: thought "I will clean the door knob, before I go out of my house" **Attachment** \[reacting to trigger\]: justifying to clean the door knob, feelings for cleaning the door knob (you want it, it makes you feel safe), reducing confidence "I can't stop compulsion" **Compulsion**: \- Cleaning door knob \[main compulsion\] \- rituals: washing hands every minute, ruminating, reassurance seeking Result: the trigger becomes real (fearful) in our mind that increases expectation of compulsion **Comparing OCD to stuttering:** **Trigger**: thought "I will stutter now". Feeling: fight-or-flight response **Attachment**: justifying to do compulsion, labeling oneself as stutterer, reducing confidence in ability to speak fluently, believing compulsion is one's way of speaking, judging that it's unacceptable to stop compulsion **Compulsion**: \- tensing speech muscles / stop moving tongue/jaw to make the next sound \[main compulsion\] \- rituals: reassurance-seeking, ruminating, secondary behavior, anxiety-reducing activities in order to distract yourself from the trigger, to do the compulsion Result: the trigger becomes real (fearful) in our mind that causes a stutter expectation and subconsciously your instinct/body does compulsion
