It's always been my view that almost any job gets a large volume of applicants. With that being said, even if you were fluent the chances of you getting the position would be just as difficult. That is the nature of the job application process. It's entirely random at times. There are 100's of applicants in many cases and I imagine 99.9% of them are fluent and they get rejected for some reason or another. Don't let this discourage you, keep applying, it's a game of large numbers. Employers discriminate all the time against race, religion, physical features ... this list goes on.
