He's just doing his job relax haha. Also a speech coach is not inspirational... a person who has an issue and overcomes it, that is inspirational, maybe even the meaning of life u/JordanPeterson. If you could overcome your stutter wouldn't that be of significant accomplishment? Something the people around you would benefit from, something that would change your life perhaps? There's two sides to stuttering that I have seen, there is the accept it people (which I don't have a problem with) and then there are tryers (sometimes successers) at defeating speech who to the minimum improved a bit. If sliding doesn't work for you (it didn't for me) and if speech professionals didn't work for you (it didn't for me) try Lee Lovett's methods for a year. If you don't see ANY results you are not doing it right and need to re-evaluate (or you could come to the conclusion that you have a perennial stutter that will never be eradicated, fine) . I am all for the person who says "Why would you want to stutter". As a mild stutterer who rarely stutters and works on his speech everyday, I can truly say that I agree with his take on it (and he's just doing his job by trying to help you because you do need help as a stutterer). Look we all deal with one significant tragic thing in our life. Our's happens to be stuttering. You can atleast attempt to better your speech for a long period of time. If it doesn't happen, hey you tried and then accept your speech. I am at the point where I don't accept my speech and believe it will continue improving with a few setbacks ofcourse. I used to be a huge advocate for Lee but found out it wasn't allowed in this subreddit so I rarely chime in but it takes so much of me to not suggest to try his methods to every person's super negative stuttering post on this sub. It is the only methods I found that worked for me, AND he is a literary extraordinaire. I don't know man, you should try and fix your speech for a while and then see if you actually can't change it because let's be completely honest, if you could take a pill to reduce the time it takes to say words, you would take it indefinitely. So why not work on your speech and reduce these unnecessary rants in this sub? (I also personally know a nurse who said to me that SLP's are trained to treat people with aphasia and brain injuries related to speech rather than stuttering. You should really look into Lee Lovett's methods at Speech Anxiety Cures).
