Hey, fellow stutterer here. Whenever I got my stutter it was around 7 years old, I understand the look of people changing the subject to talk about your stutter very well. I’m 25 now and I still stutter with my current job, but not as bad as before. For me I’m pretty sure what helped was talking to my friends online, those who didn’t really mind my stutter and overall getting comfortable with conversing. A tip I have, if you get stuck in a particular word, don’t try to continue on with it, change the structure of the sentence to avoid that word, for me I like to visualize it as traffic cones.
