Cried to my mom yesterday Hey everyone, I hope everyone’s doing good amidst this pandemic. Ever since the pandemic started, my stutter has gotten worse, I think it’s the worst it has ever gotten! So basically I’m an international student in Australia and I’ve had no social contact with people because my university is closed and I don’t have friends here. I realised about my stutter getting worse whenever I went to the super market to get my grocery. It was all well until one day I saw an old woman struggling to carry her grocery to the till so I offered her help, she was keen with it. After she got done paying, she had to carry it all the way to the parking, I offered for help again but this time I kept stuttering for some good 30-40 seconds and I couldn’t take my words out but eventually I did. She gave me a very mean look and loudly said I don’t need your help. I think it’s this incident which I can’t get out of my head at all. So I called up my mom yesterday and started crying to her on call about how my stutter is making me feel, I don’t think she understands how it feels but is genuinely very supportive.I just get told by my family it’s just psychological but my stutter has been making me really insecure. Are there any tips? Remedies to reduce it??? I get told by people that I’m tall, good looking and there’s nothing I have to be insecure about but everyone’s fighting their own battles we don’t know anything about!!!! Please can we just be kind to each other???? I’m sorry for this long rant, I just had to type my thoughts and share it with you guys!!!
