I'll keep this brief (ask any questions tho and I'll respond when I can) Ppl who inherently stutter develop strategies such as pacing or filler words. These are called adaptive behaviors. Adaptive behaviors consume a large mental space in your brain if you're trying to forego stuttering. You can easily overuse them & end up sounding incoherent or focused on them that you forget what the other individual was saying or even what you were about to say! Attempting to not stutter is like digging an endless rabbit hole. It's not worth your time & ironically causes you to feel fatigued more often as you're constantly monitoring every word you say in hope of fluency.
