I have mixed feelings about your happy ending because I turned down theater roles in school BECAUSE of my stutter. (I'm a covert stutterer too.) There was no way I was going to stutter on stage and have everyone laugh at me. My stutter would have broken the flow of dialogue and timing -- it's just a fact. Honestly, I equate it to something like a double-leg amputee running a race against normal-legged people. Maybe I wasn't brave enough or maybe somebody writing a book about stuttering would have inspired me to act on stage. I'm gonna go cry now. Anyways, if you do write a book about an MC who stutters, I would YEARN for the MC to talk or show how stuttering affected their daily life, motivation, and activities. I'd want authenticity. Give me their tragedy and triumphs. An MC who just happens to have a realistically-depicted stutter would feel cheap and a missed opportunity. But yeah, dude, do what you want and write your book!!!
