I've heard the dopamine theory before. But in my experience I personally feel like when my Dopamine is low and seratonin is too high (in a hang over like state) I tend to stutter alot more. When Dopamine & testosterone at a good level my speech is alot better. So I'm thinking maybe stutterers have genetically higher stress/cortisol levels than other normally fluent people.
