Well, now that you know how that employer responds...do you really want to work for someone like that? If it's fast food, just go to the next one. You don't necessarily need to be working storefront all the time. Do you have friends or other people who can refer you? It could even be someone to help start a conversation, when approaching potential employers, for you so you don't have the anxiety of that part. Don't let it hold you back, take it one step at a time, one goal at a time, one day at a time.
