Making friends was hard for me in college too. Particularly because so much of the social life at my school revolved around Greek life, and there was no way I was going to put myself through rushing a fraternity. I ended up making a few close friends by joining clubs for things I was really interested in. If you already have a known common interest with people, I found it eases a little of the social pressure. Good luck to you. I know it can be hard.
