Hi! I’m 24 and I’ve realized my stuttering goes through phases. When I’m happy and calm, I stutter much much less. When I’m scared or very stressed, my stuttering increases. I had speech therapy when I was small. I’ve learned to honestly take breathes before I talk and just have a happy mindset before I talk. On days where my stuttering overpowers, I just learn to breathe and accept it. I totally underhand how you feel. It makes me upset at times and I get so frustrated! People who don’t know I stutter laugh at it or are caught off guard. I do get nervous but I try to not let it affect me. I do recommend trying breathing exercises! That’s one thing I remember from speech therapy. Just be conscious of your breathing and know that YOU are important. Do not let anyone belittle you or make you feel bad. I’m sorry that people are mean. I used to cry over my stuttering and it does make me feel bad at times. I am trying to accept it and still work on it. Wishing you the best !
