I believe the fear isn't so much of stuttering, but it's a fear of being judged negatively, being rejected etc. A huge breakthrough I've had with my speech is removing my perspective on my stutter from being negative to at least neutral. Also, learning to not attach my self worth to external factors outside of my control. I think you're on a good brain wave tho! Have you seen any progress with this different perspective?
