I would have said the same thing at 16. Two things that really helped me: Seeing a speech therapist to improve my speech. I'm going to stutter the rest of my life but I'm okay with that and it's improved drastically. Then seeing a therapist to talk about the confidence issues that went along with stuttering. With the help of these two fantastic women, I'm able to stutter with confidence, something that I would have thought was impossible. I like to think I'm at least moderately successful for being 23. I have a well respected, decently paying corporate job where I run classes teaching our new hires sales techniques. I'm a stutterer with what is essentially a public speaking job! One of the best pieces of advice I've gotten is that nearly everybody stutters a little and even if you stutter more than most, if you don't make a big deal of it it's not THAT noticeable.
