It only happens with my mother. Sometimes people notice my stutter but they are always very patient and kind and encourage me to finish my thought. My mother gets triggered easily and goes off on long winded rants directed towards me a lot. And it's happened before. I stutter over a word and she just gets angry and annoyed. I hate talking to her. I hate spending time with her because I don't know what will get her triggered and what will make her angry. I know she's going through a hard time at work since her company had a merger and she's had depression since going on some medication but I feel like those don't excuse going on a long stupid rant.
