> recovered my fluency through psychotherapy The psychotherapy approach isn't talked about nearly enough in this forum and the stuttering community in general. I recently commented that all the speech techniques used are rendered worthless if you dont have a solid emotional foundation and positive view towards stuttering. If you buy into the iceberg analogy and the concept that stuttering is the "10%", I realized it doesn't make sense to put all your effort towards fluency when the negative emotions are the driving factor in preventing a person coping with their stutter. I have done a lot of self-help and support groups, but like you, I think psychotherapy would be a good addition for me. We go through decades of unaddressed trauma because we are told we have a speech disorder, but it goes so much deeper than that.
