IMO, severity of stuttering is not measurable and mostly subjective. I saw people with mild (to me at least) stuttering. But their subjective feeling was much worse because their level of self expectation was very high. Perhaps they were too sensitive to the people reaction, and when they felt the reaction was below their expectation they were frustrated. Put in in one word, it is mostly subjective.
