I'm from USA and my field is business. I went to CC most of my college years until my last year I got a degree in business admin. I'm not applying for jobs where voice communication skills are greatly used but they're used to some extent but the major one is getting past the interview. I went to a good school, I'm not an idiot and I can do the job. I get more comfortable speaking when I get to know people but getting past the interview is hard. Example, today I got a call for a phone interview for a loan job and I read the job description - mostly office work. That's why I applied for it. Got a vm saying want a phone interview and got scared. Ended up calling but got through vm. Other jobs I've applied to and got interviews but no offer. I felt like I'm highly qualified and I learn fast and my past jobs include holiday retail and working at a mall coffee shop.
