Been a lifelong stutterer since 4 years old. I'm 39 now, was teased through school and it took me until highschool to own my stutter. I even did a presentation on it, and it opened me up and let some of the fear go. I got girlfriends and had many dates because I didn't let my stutter stop me. I still stutter moderately, sometimes it can be bad, sometimes barely there. I have a good job at a lab now and I was open in the interview. I let co workers know and just accept the discomfort. I still feel scared sometimes, but it's gotten so much better. I let alot of the shame go that I carried for so long. It will get better just own it.
