I have started stuttering age 25? Has anyone else? I'm not really sure what's going on, for the past two weeks I have found myself getting caught on words while I'm trying to speak and I will be stuck repeating them over and over. I am able to stop after a few times repeating the same word, pause, and restart my sentence and finish it properly, but I have no idea why I'm getting stuck repeating words. Example: "I can can can can can can" *pause* "I can go to the shop for you". From what I've managed to gather from Google this soulds like it could be a stutter, but everything I've read about adult onset stutters makes out like this is extremely rare so I'm quite confused as to what may be going on. To my knowledge I have never had difficulties with speech, I am not on any medications, and I don't I feel like I am undergoing stress that could be causing a psychological(?) stutter - I do *have* psychological issues but I feel the best now than I have done in years so it would be odd if my mental health conditions were suddenly causing a stutter now of all times. I'm not really sure what to make of it, should I see a doctor? Has anyone else in this group ever experienced a stutter come on in their mid 20s? Did you ever find the cause?
