Hi, friend. I’m 77f stuttered since childhood. I’m almost fluent in casual conversation but can stutter badly when I have to say any specific thing. Recently I’m having trouble with vowel sounds initiating words and I had a very lengthy sound repetition of SOCIAL SECURITY in a very casual conversation. This disease is, has driven me crazy. You would think that at my age I would have accommodated to it. I’ve had a long marriage to a wonderful man, raised 2 amazing human beings, finished university though had no career, though. Being a homemaker was my career. You sound very aware of your speech pattern. Isn’t it interesting how we can be so intellectually aware of our speech yet totally unable to conquer this disability?
