I can relate to this in multiple ways. From my adolescent years to now. I've had jobs where it was blatantly told to me that certain people didn't want to talk to me because of my speech affliction. That was more than one job as well. I didn't bother with them until apparently I earned their respect through my hard work and what type of person I am. It really does feel like you have to prove yourself more as a stutterer. As if you're an oddity until proven you have other attributes. And you're just a person with a hindrance. Inevitably though no one needs to justify or validate themselves to anyone. Especially based on something they have no control over at times. So are those people really worth your peace of mind? Are they going to destroy your life by not 'liking' you? Not trying to tell you how to feel because God knows I've been there myself plenty of times. But they seem to be very judgemental and not worth your time and energy. Trying to hard for others time is a waste. Be yourself and give time to those who reciprocate genuinely. I hope you find people who actually want to establish friendship with you. Best of luck.
