Hello, Yes now that i think about it, it's more about muscle tension, the skin is only covering that. 1. Yes i do. If i remember well, it was more intense before the surgery. Now i still do but only from time to time. It happens mostly when I'm around people a lot because I try erase my resting bitch face by flexing some of my face muscles (like smiling a bit etc ..). There is days i don't go out so i'm letting my face do as he pleased and no trouble here.. 2. No i don't. I used to wear a dental tray (idk if it's the proper term) at night to keep my teeth straight post-orthodontic (you actually need to wear braces before and after the surgery). I was done with it a week ago, so i can't say whether or not i grind my teeth at night. Otherwise, my jaw are pretty weak (surgery and all that) can't bite hard enough to damage my teeth. Actually my teeth are pretty sharp, especially my canins. 3. Yes, that's why i believe my stutter is partly functional. I wouldn't be able to pinpoint which sound specifically (besides, i mostly speak French, so i don't know if it would be accurate for english patient standards) 4. Funny you mention that. Main reason that made me go for the surgery was that each and everytime i yawn, my jaw kinda dislocated and i had to push my jaw around to get it back in place (I was prognath and laterognath). Post surgery, it doesnt dislocate anymore, but there is cracking noise and indeed i feel pain and soreness when i yawn. 5. I kinda do but idk if it's that important since it's been that way since i was born and i did not stutter when i was young. I guess it can amplifies the issue .. 6. Pretty much every therapists i saw told me that my tongue was never at the right place when resting. For me resting means mouth a little bit open, no contact between my upper and lower lips, nor my upper theeth etc .. Tongue is pushing my lower teeth so that i can breath through the mouth. Since this position is pushing my teeth, my orthodontic recently gave me a tongue thingy (like this : http://www.sunprothese.fr/enveloppe-linguale-nocturne) so that my tongue stay in good position. First nights were awful as i couldnt breath properly. IDK how efficient it will be though. You do seem to have experience with this issue.
