Yea I bet it was. Did you try to disclose that you had a stutter? If she was partially deaf and you have a stutter maybe it would have been best if you were adamant about written communication for the therapy session. I get that therapist are supposed to help you process your emotions, maybe diagnose you and walk you though treatment options. And that may prove useful if you have clinical depression, OCD, ADHD or any other neurological condition or even personality disorders. But if you're going there due mental health issues with your stutter as the center of that, then I think it's better to go to an SLP. Because at least they are more knowledgeable about the physiological aspects of stuttering which are causing you stress, anxiety, depression, feelings of isolation, poor self-esteem, etc.. They can possibly help you with the emotional aspect of the condition. Maybe not the physiological part unless you find a good program like the speech Institute based in Toronto or Hollins some program that has shown some results.
