Stuttering and Frame Control Hi all, It's easier for me to be comfortable speaking and being a stutterer if I control the frame of my reality and also the frame of each conversation I have. I'm not sure I'm defining frame correctly, but I'm defining it my way anyway. What I mean by it is I try to dictate the flow of every conversation I have, particularly with strangers when there's no natural chemistry already established. I find I will stutter more and be more uncomfortable if I have to speed up to catch someone who is trying to drive a very fast conversation. I speak quite slowly and force the other person to slow down to my speed, or we're not having a conversation. Controlling the pace of my interactions has also given me more confidence, as I feel like the one in charge when I talk to people one on one. I made a video that talks about it, among other non-stuttering things, skipping to the frame part here: https://youtu.be/iBG8CBjE7sY?t=2m52s What do you think about stuttering and frame? Do you consciously try to keep up with the other person talking, or do you make them go to your speed? Thanks for reading.
