If they think they're laughing with you, they most likely don't realize it can be hurtful - especially if you've never told them anything like that. I don't know your work environment. You could try working on your own interpretation - that it's not ridicule after all - or you could try altering their behavior. Whichever the case, you should try to get to a better place.
