That always bothered me bc my problem was that I simply couldn’t get the words out, or they came out with a very misleading tone, or timing was confusingly off. I’d try to make a minor passing joke comment, and I’d end up interrupting the next speaker to seemingly bark out a random insult. It is great to tell people, but be sure to tell them the problem as it occurs for you, bc most people think stuttering is jjjjjust tttthis.
