Like I said, I had an on and off stutter when I was kid so I can at least understand where your son's coming from. I never went to any speech therapy classes nor attended any NSA events. It simply went away on it's own because I had friends to socialize with and eventually forgot about it. I think the best advice I can give for your son is to leave him be. Because all speech therapy is going to do in my opinion is remind him of his stutter even more and how he's going to identify with it. And trust me... once you identify with something, it's going to make it even harder to get rid of because it will always be stuck in your head. So what I'm suggesting is to (for a time being) give your son at least a one year break from these classes and exercises. Make sure he has trustworthy friends who he can communicate with and before you know it, he'll most likely forget about his stutter because that's what kids do.
