Lee Lovett‘s methods have changed my life. Everything from reading out aloud when you’re alone (which improves your fluency habit), never forcing blocks (to weaken the stutter habit), positive affirmatives (e.g. “I am an excellent speaker), and his crutches (e.g. linking words, skipping first syllables, modulating), and more have helped me shed 80% or more of my stutter in most situations, and cured others entirely (I’m new to it and too busy to give it the time it deserves so that’s why I’m still a work in progress.) You can find this and more in Lee’s magnum opus How to Stop Stuttering and Love Speaking (available on Kindle). I highly recommend it. Also, here come the haters…
