I’m confused why people spend money to have other people guess why they stutter and have them do things that somehow fix their stutter. (I’m 15, so I don’t know a whole lot about the world so don’t start ripping on me. I understand I may not know much about the real world) My dad stutters, and I do too. The thing about a doctor is that they don’t actually know what it feels like to stutter. With my dad, he can tell me ways he fixed his stutter, which don’t always help but some do. My dad fixed his stutter on his own and he wants me to do the same. While doing that, I’ve found many internet articles and books on stuttering that were written by people who stutter that helped way more than the speech teacher I had in elementary school. The therapists and speech teachers may be professionals, but only in the study of their career. They’re missing something stutterers who help stutterers have.
