I Think My Stutter Is Going To Unalive Me I've been trying to get any measly a\*\* job for months now and people simply want nothing to do with me. I'm talking about minimum wage jobs. I think its because no matter where you apply, they expect you to be extremely enthusiastic and bubbly 24/7 and talk like a motorboat engine. And if you cannot live up to that expectation, they're not going to take you on. Or even if you're a little socially awkward.........they're not going to take you on. I recently applied to a dishwasher position (at a restaurant that is within walking distance) over the phone and the first question the recruiter asked me was " Why do you want to work at X restaurant? ". I then told her that I saw the position online and got interested. And I stuttered throughout the interview......answered her questions but didn't really do a lot of pro-active talking (because I simply can't). There were a few awkward silences in the conversation. But I didn't get the job. Even though before the interview it really felt like the recruiter was ready to give it to me but the interview changed her mind. What am I supposed to do now, just starve and d\*\* because of my stutter!?!? Are people with stutters now not supposed to live life like everyone else!? I'm not even asking for anything glamorous here.
