Do we subconsciously choose to stutter? Hey guys, lately I have been reading a book called Stuttering & Anxiety by Lee Lovet. And in this book he talks about how people subconsciously choose to stutter, when I read that I had to pause and think. And as much as I hate to say it, I think he is right. When I’m alone I’m perfectly fluent, when I sing or whisper I’m also fluent. Soo why is it when I’m talking to another human being I start blocking up and stuttering like crazy?? I legit know nothing about something that effects my life soo greatly and I hate it. Why do we stutter when put into social situations? It must be our brain subconsciously choosing to stutter right? That kinda makes sense, or is it because of the anxiety based on negative past emotions and experience causing us to stutter? I’d love to hear someone else’s opinions on this. Thanks for reading
