Thats exactly me! Ive been seeing a psychiatrist for 8 months now, and I can say that the gap between talking infront of a group and talking in the private has been shrinking for me. A psychiatrist helps you not be ashamed of your stutter, and do not think about what others think about your stutter or your weird behaviour and etc. A therapist tries to make you focus more on your stutter which makes you even more conditional that if one day you stutter more, youll feel bad and vice versa, on the other hand a psychiatrist tries to reduce your focus on your stutter and words, and instead makes you focus more on if the communication was successful or not, this as a result makes you care less if you stutter or not as long as you say what you really want to say. The moment that you do not care if you stutter infront of a group, is the moment that your stutter will get better and better overtime after that.
