Stuttering can be emotionally triggered. I believe it is too. Because everyone’s threshold for trauma is unique, there’s no set level of what or how much trauma might cause stuttering. Not everyone who stutters was traumatized, either. There are physiological causes such as developmental deficits and brain injury. Because we often cannot remember any specific incidents which might have affected our speech, is no reason to dismiss the possibility that stuttering was triggered by an emotional event. We are all aware that the result of our stuttering has caused emotional damage, but it’s time trauma Is investigated as a serious factor in stuttering.
