Being able to train your brain to stop anticipating a fear is *very* challenging for some. When someone gives that advice, have you asked how it has helped them? (It’s possible they are giving advice that’s too difficult for them even to follow). However, there are specific practices to get to a very similar mindset. They are uncomfortable but tend to be very permanently effective. Disclose or do brief voluntary repetitions. You can practice in a mirror while making eye contact w yourself. Build up to phone calls and in person. Also, begin speaking slowly on an exhale while making normal eye contact.
