I just want to come in here and say as a lifelong stutterer (27 y/o fm) who started law school last year, that despite stuttering in speech, the work is mainly written-focused. For example, many of the exams are only written exams, so in that regard it’s no problem. I’m only in my second semester, and I am struggling a bit with all the oral case-presentations that we have, which happen daily in some weeks, but I also see it as the ultimate opportunity to finally confront my own insecurities toward my stuttering, as my peers couldn’t care less. Right now I’m looking into trying to improve it, for my own sake, because it amplifies my social anxiety. So I’d say, exactly for that reason, maybe your law school dream is your ideal situation you could put yourself in, to make peace with stuttering, whether or not it gets better, because you will find that you can still become a lawyer regardless of this speech impairment ❤️ But I know your struggle so well, and it is hard, but I also think I find it hard now, because I’m confronting it for the first time in my life, head-on. Give it a shot! (And again, it’s so awesome that most of the study is based on your written word.)
