As far as I know, you can declare it as a disability when applying for jobs and suchlike, but you have to jump through a load of flaming hoops to get disability benefits for anything in the UK. You'd need plenty of evidence from doctors and have to demonstrate that you need support to do basic things. The Personal Independence Payments scheme (PIP) seems designed to thoroughly demoralise you by preying on your weaknesses, then slapping you in the face by saying you're not sick or disabled enough for help.
