Yes! I had an abusive childhood that caused me trauma all my adult life, which I had never sufficiently dealt with. After addressing my deep feelings of anger and betrayal in therapy, I became totally fluent. The disabling daily migraines, anxiety, and depression also ended. My stuttering, anxiety, and disabling headaches affected my life to the degree that I couldn't pursue my career after university. I could scarcely fulfill my role as a wife and mother. I was 70 years old when I gained my fluency, after stuttering at age 4. Though I had speech as well as a psychological therapy at other times in my life, I'd not fully addressed my anger and sadness until my current therapist. I recognize that there are diverse causes of stuttering, both physical as well as emotional, but in my particular case, the etiology appeared to be psychological. Can you send me a private message about your circumstances? Sincerely, Sue
