I’m sorry to hear you’ve been through all this. Did your program have a strategy for responding to relapse? That’s what you need. The McGuire program has it, and I’ve been able to stay pretty much fluent for like the last like 7 months or so. As long as I stutter on purpose with at least one person a week, and tell them I stutter. As well as doing like one adventurous thing per week socially, such as meeting new people; my mind has been able to keep it’s mental pathways for speaking open. A 3 week course will probably get you fluent in that three weeks, but if you don’t take the mindset and techniques to real life, relapse is pretty much expected. That’s normal so don’t be discouraged. I’ve began to relapse probably 100’s of times on the McGuire Program. But their response strategy keeps my head above water. I also see a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) once a week, which helps tremendously as well. Keep fighting bro. You got a lot of mental programs that aren’t helping you speak with fluency. Anxiety, resentments, shame, all of that must be healed. A 3 week program can give you direction, but healing is a lifelong pathway. And the further you get on the path, the more familiar you become with yourself. The challenges start to lesson and life becomes lighter and easier. Keep fighting man. I heard great things about a book called Anxiety Rx. It’s good for trauma, etc. Check that out! I’ve been thinking about getting it.
