I was a stutterer. Our daughter also stuttered as a young child. I blamed myself, maybe it is genetic? However, she outgrew it at age 6. She is an adult now and has no idea she once stuttered. As a female, it's less likely that one would stutter but there's not enough research on this damning condition. I have 5 grandsons and none stutter though the predominance of stuttering being a male phenomenon, perhaps there is a genetic component. Research is needed.
