This was a good response. I think the problem that some of us have with acceptance is that sure, we accept that we stutter, but stuttering makes us feel useless (at least that's how it is for me). I certainly don't mean to call other stutterers "useless" I'm speaking mostly for myself although I suspect that others have similar thoughts. When I take a minute to say my name I feel useless. When I take 2 minutes to order food at a restaurant and hold up a line I feel useless. Etc. Sometimes I feel a stutter will never end and that my entire existence is essentially defined by stuttering. Have you managed to get past this?
