My colleagues brought in snacks and cakes for National Stuttering Awareness Day. I work in a medium sized office in an admin department of my local hospital. My job can be quite stressful and having a stutter doesn't make it any easier when I'm talking to patients, consultants and other staff but I get on with it. My colleagues know that I stutter, I don't really bring it up but I don't want them to think they can't talk about it with me or ask me questions and that's how they knew about the awareness day. I came into work that day and they had brought lots of cakes, chips and stuff like that. It was unexpected but it was a really nice thing for them to do! It's definitely something I will remember.
