My stutter was VERY severe. Now, I say this comparing to your average stutter. In situations outside my comfort zone, which was quite small at that, close friends and family only, I would/could take up to a minute or 2 to get out a sentence. Since this happening, I just chose to not speak at all instead of even trying. I kinda became mute in most situations really. In my comfort zone I was much better, but yet I would have A LOT of facial struggle and really got blocked by hard plosive sounds (p,b,d). My stutter now is much better, I do stutter every now and then, but I've slowed my speech down quite a bit, I'm pronouncing words and sounds with a lot of exaggeration and using deep (costal) breathing in order to help keep the airflow working. Due to reduced anxiety from meditation (honestly like natural xanax) I've been able to handle it much better now. I make what I say in the prior comment easy, but it takes more effort than I even thought at the start, there was times when I wanted to give up, but I didn't. And this is where I am now. Hope this answers your questions. I'm open to more if you have any. Have a good day. Peace and love to you!
